PROJECT TIMELINE
Phase 1: Discovery & Planning (1 Week. 1-2 Meetings)
Monsoon will lead one half-day meeting or multiple two-hour meetings to understand the GMC’s vision, brand identity, and audience. These meetings will also finalize a project scope of work with key milestones and deliverable deadlines. During our meeting, we will also generate a finalized sitemap that will allow Monsoon to map user journeys and features onto specific pages.
Phase 2: Website Design (2-3 Weeks – Depending on Feedback Speed)
Monsoon will first build out a functional web-accessible mockup of the new GMC homepage. This will allow the GMC to experience Monsoon’s interpretation of the layout, features, and brand aesthetics firsthand. Monsoon will make any adjustments necessary to the layout and aesthetics of the homepage based on GMC feedback. Once we have locked in the design, Monsoon will build out the remaining page templates for approval. ADA Compliance and accessibility standards will be utilized throughout the build.
Phase 3: Website Development (3 Months – If Content Locked)
After the GMC’s approval of the 10-page templates, Monsoon will begin the work of transferring over sitemap applicable web pages from the previous website. Phase 3 will be the longest phase where Monsoon will add:
- Detailed Search Feature – This will scan the text of every event, post, title, and copy on the site to help users quickly navigate the website by searching specific keywords.
- Multi-Language Translation Solution – Monsoon will add and begin testing the translation tool. This tool will blend the quick adoption of AI translation tools with the ability to allow GMC staff to manually edit sentences that need further contextualization.
- SEO Optimization – Every page will have a supported Title, Description, Image, and Meta Tags to help with On-Site Search Engine Optimization. Monsoon will also provide initial consultation and commentary on best SEO practices for the GMC to leverage.
- Member Logins – WordPress is perfect for creating unique member logins for staff and visitors. Staff will be able to login to the ‘back-end’ and manage the content viewed on the ‘front-end’ by visitors. Visitors will be able to login and access member-only areas and other functionality determined by the GMC.
- Donation Processing – Most non-profits that we work with have a third-party donation software that we implement into the existing site. Native donation processing is available if the GMC does not have a 3rd party tool to integrate.
- Event Registration – Monsoon has built numerous nonprofit websites that allow churches and nonprofits to collect registration information, automatically email QR code ticketing, capture food/apparel options for events, and sell sponsorships through the website.
- A2P Compliance – The world of text and email marketing is evolving and becoming highly regulated. Websites that are not A2P compliant are opening themselves up to massive fines from the FTC. Monsoon will ensure that the GMC is A2P compliant when sending text messages and emails to event registrants, donors, and visitors.
Phase 4: Testing and Launch (2 Weeks)
- Monsoon and the GMC will collaboratively connect on translation accuracy, usability, and browser compatibility testing.
- Site speed optimization and security checks are not the best fit for a test environment. Monsoon will perform preliminary testing in the test server but will not trust those tests completely outside of a live environment. Monsoon will perform and continue to track the new GMC site under active visitor load during Phase 5 to ensure a quality user experience.
- Monsoon will set a final launch meeting with the GMC team to perform a final review. Once final edits are completed and Monsoon has received approval from the GMC team we will make the DNS record edits necessary to launch the new website.
- Monsoon will provide your team with recorded training sessions that showcase exactly how to create and modify every piece of your website. This will allow the GMC to easily slot in new staff members to edit and manage the website when turnover takes place.
Phase 5: Post-Launch Support (3 Months of Support)
Any support requested during the 90-day post-launch support period is included free of charge. Monsoon gives all of our clients ongoing maintenance and support throughout the life of their site and will provide an estimated cost for each request. Ongoing work from Monsoon will be charged at an hourly rate of $100 with no minimums. If your request took 15 minutes to complete, Monsoon will only charge you $25.
